The Grand Rapids Jaycees Foundation has had a long, storied history with the city. Since 1983, the Grand Rapids Jaycees Foundation has been building the Grand Rapids that we see today by promoting community involvement in community affairs through charitable assistance, and by promoting the welfare of the community and the welfare of its citizens.

The Grand Rapids Jaycees Foundation and Chapter have a long history of being involved in major community undertakings. Many years ago, the Jaycees were instrumental in the sales of bonds for the original Welsh Auditorium. The Jaycees are also responsible for bringing professional sports to Grand Rapids – The Grand Rapids Chicks (Women’s Professional Baseball in the 1940’s) and more recently, the Senior PGA Tour (now the PGA Champions Tour). Other more recent projects include the fundraising and construction of the Jaycees/McKay Family Park on 28th Street. Current projects include the Farmers Charity Classic, Michigan Special Olympics Basketball Tournament, the Santa Claus Parade and Grand Reflections "Brick by Brick" campaign for the new DeVos Place Riverfront Promenade.
